Halo: Reach Beta is starting to buzz – here are some Halo Reach Beta excerpts from this week hyping up the May 3rd release:
examiner.com:
One would be hard pressed to have not heard about Halo: Reach or its multiplayer beta set to rock Xbox 360s worldwide on May 3rd. Whether they’ve been following the buzz in the blogosphere, checking out the scoops here on Examiner.com, or caught a glimpse of the rather lackluster live-action “short” that’s taken over the television stations, the word is out. Now, Microsoft has released a handful of screenshots to further quicken the collective pulses of the fans.
shacknews.com:
With the Friends & Family beta underway, I was able to play a few sessions of the Halo: Reach beta across a few gametypes. This isn’t going to be an in-depth preview, but a broad look at some of the biggest changes Bungie is making to the Halo multiplayer sandbox.
The two biggest changes to the actual gameplay lie with loadouts and armor abilities. Loadouts create classes, though these are not customizable by the player. Each one has a set of weapon(s) and an armor ability. In some gametypes, it might be the same set of weapons differing only by the armor ability. In others, the loadouts are fully unique.

Technically, the highly anticipated Halo: Reach beta doesn’t start until May 3rd, but that didn’t stop us from gaining access. Although most gamers will have to wait until next week, Bungie activated it, giving thousands of first person shooter fans the opportunity to experience the multiplayer modes and weapons. We spent a few hours with it, and the familiar gameplay, combined with new features, make it worth a look.
Looks like the new halo reach beta is being previewed and the videos are starting to pop up all over the place. It’s clear that the multiplayer aspect is what everyone has been getting worked up about and if you do some short work on google you’ll have videos popping up everywhere. After watching all beta footage, I may just go out and buy ODST just to get the halo reach beta multiplayer!
here’s one link to some video.
Halo Reach is coming up big with all the leading gaming magazines. There really isn’t anything groundbreaking about this new edition but the enhancements they took from Halo 3… man they just ran with it – Honestly, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, just make it better! And folks, that’s exactly what they’re doing. The may halo reach beta countdown is on. T minus 9 days.
the gentlemen over at gamespy.com were nice enough to compile a top 10 things of why halo: reach is going to be the game of 2010. so without further ado the top 10:
1. The Customer’s Always Right: Halo players have always had good deal of customization options at their fingertips, but the offerings in recent entries like Halo 3 or ODST pale in comparison to the variety found in Reach. Not only will players be able to change their avatar’s cosmetic appearance (more on that later), there are also a number of new Matchmaking improvements. Being able to choose matches based on language or level of competition (in addition to old standby connection speed) makes it more likely that players will be able to find a match that will actually make them happy.
As for me, I’m most looking forward to using the new and (greatly) improved voting mechanic. Gone are the days of vetoing a map and getting thrown into an even less desirable one, as players will now be offered a number of map/mode combinations that can be voted on democratically. If you’re still not happy with your lot in life, you can either quit or just suck it up.
